Our client was asked by his employer to deliver electrical heaters to the defendant’s premises. On arriving he was directed away from the usual delivery area, and to another entrance accessed by a set of steps. The steps were constructed of different materials and the risers were of different heights, resulting is a lip at the top of the step in the doorway. Our client tripped over the lip as he entered the building and fell, landing heavily on his left shoulder, suffering a dislocation. An ambulance had to be called.

Our client has been left with permanent symptoms in the injured shoulder.
The defendant in this case denied liability throughout, however we were confident that our client would succeed at trial so did not back down. The defendant did in fact relent and settled the claim just a week before the trial date after we negotiated an increase in the amount they were offering to settle.
Financial reward
We were able to recover travel and private medical expenses for our client, as well as a financial award which compensated him for the pain and suffering he went through. Fortunately, our client did not suffer loss of earnings as a result of his injury.
